Sympathetic ground floor and attic conversion to a family home.

Pendle Road is a ground floor extension as well as loft conversion for an end of terrace period London family home. It provides extended ground floor living space creating a new open plan kitchen and dining room. On the second floor an new master bedroom with ensuite and walk in wardrobe were created through the conversion of the attic space.
A simple elegant box protrudes from the rear of the property offering a comfortable new space with garden views. To maximise light, views to and from the garden and form more interesting and usable spaces the façade has a step back to on corner.

Roof lights flood the kitchen and dining space with natural daylight and allow light to penetrate into the heart of the house.
The attic conversion extends the roof space out towards the garden with two new ‘dormer’ spaces. The master bedroom suite takes up the whole of the second-floor attic conversion creating a light and airy space.

Gaining planning permission for this project required an intensive and collaborative engagement with the planners. This culminated in full planning consent without extension of time nor compromising the space and quality of the project.
